Faculty Lounge KBVU radio broadcasts

From 2013 to 2015, Communications professor, Bruce Ellingson broadcast a radio show on KBVU where he interviewed faculty and staff about their jobs and about working at Buena Vista University. Some interviewees are BV alums.

FDR and the New Deal

An unknown person interviewed three Buena Vista College professors and two Storm Lake businessmen, asking their opinions of Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), former US president who served during The Depression. The New Deal was one of his programs for helping the country by starting work programs for the unemployed.

History of Buena Vista

Professor William H. Cumberland and a student interviewed former students, faculty, and administrators for the centennial edition of A History of Buena Vista College by William H. Cumberland. This edition was published in 1991; BVC became Buena Vista University in 1995, and a third edition of the official history was published in 2006. These primary sources were used once again for the third edition.

Old Main Burning

On September 27, 1956, a fire consumed Old Main. For the 60th anniversary of the event, these alumni were interviewed. They share their memories of that night and the aftermath.
